An overview of the LabelExpo 2013 in Brussels

LabelExpo Europe 2013 will this year be held in Brussels, Belgium. Back in 2011 the event attracted a record breaking 28,636 visitors from more than 123 countries. This years show is set to be the largest in its 33 year history and is once again to be supported by FINAT, a big name in the labelling industry.

LabelExpo 2013 is the world’s largest event in the label and package printing industry, this year it will see more products, more launches and more live demonstrations. There will be plenty to see this year including working machinery, cutting edge technology, multi-substrate presses, digital presses, laser die cutting and much more. It will give visitors the opportunity to learn about how to source new technology, become more customer focused, how to enter in to new niche markets, value added services, how to increase profitability and drive down costs.

The event will consist of seven halls of over 550 exhibitors, visitors will have the opportunity to discover new innovations down every aisle. This year’s show will include diversifying in to package printing as a key topic at the 2013 exhibition. The shows organisers will be running a specially created workshop in partnership with Xeikon and Nuova GUIDE. This workshop will demonstrate opportunities in both digital and conventional printing and what this can bring to folding carton, lid laminate and stand up pouch decoration. This workshop entry is at no additional cost and is aimed to help give label printers a valuable technical demonstration that should help them easily diversify their business into short and medium run package printing.

This year the organisers of LabelExpo have revealed that it will have a brand-new show feature, known as the Inkjet Trail. This will take place at the Brussels Expo between 24th to 27th of September. The Inkjet trail will compare the different available inkjet technologies and look at the results when producing identical label designs on the same label stocks.

Any label and package printing converters looking to invest in digital printing for the very first time will have the opportunity to attend a half-day masterclass in which key industry experts will help to explore current state-of-the-art technologies in digital label printing amongst other key factors.

Registering for the show before the 18th September will see you pay a €50 entry fee otherwise the show will cost of the standard rate €75.
